|"Power Line" is a very new
technology for going online by using the the standard 230 V power supply.
This would enable entering the World Wide Web for nearly anybody because,
i think, there aren´t many households without powersupply. This technology
could change communication at all, so the experts opinions regarding the
availability of "powerline" technologies differ in many ways. Of course
the old telecom organisations do not really want to help "POWERLINE" grow
up. On the other hand there are the power supplyers and there are all the
existing cables, so why shouldn´t they use this new technology.
At the moment there are two important projects, one from Novell, known as the "nest" project see -> news and one from Nortel and Norweb in Great Britain see > news .
