The course will comprise three parts, taught in conjunction with two different programming languages. Specifically the course's three parts will be on assembly, C and operating system-level programming.

Die Gruppen 2, 3, 4 und 5 werden in deutscher Sprache abgehalten.

• For the Assembly part -- "Programming from the ground up" by Jonathan Bartlett (publisher's page, on-line version)
• For the C part -- "The C Programming Language, 2nd Edition (ANSI C)" by Brian Kernighan and Dennis Ritchie (publisher's page, book's informal page at Bell Labs, errata)
• The chapters that will constitute the course's exam curriculum will be announced during the course lectures.
