APPLAUD is an acronym for "A Programme for People to Learn at University-Level at a Distance".

APPLAUD (25097-CP-1-96-1-FI-ODL) is an ODL project under the EU Socrates Programme (1996-1998).

 

Key objectives of APPLAUD:

  • to facilitate co-operation between different teacher education institutions in Europe
  • to empower teachers and teacher educators by improving their command of, competence in and proficiency of ODL techniques
  • to improve the quality and user-friendliness of open and distance learning products
  • to promote the exchange of experience, innovation and good practice among teachers, teacher educators and teacher trainees
  • to establish a system of ODL modules to be used by personnel and teacher trainees in all institutions involved
  • to promote the European dimension
